V-Strom 250 Overview
Suzuki’s V-Strom series has won the hearts of riders around the world and established itself as one of the leading names in the adventure motorcycle segment since the V-Strom 1000 debuted in 2002 and the V-Strom 650 joined the line-up in 2004. Suzuki now brings the same excitement, riding pleasure and adventure versatility to a broader audience; riders who are buying their first motorcycle, riders returning to two wheels after a long absence, riders looking for a more manageable lightweight machine and many others too.
The new V-Strom 250 is equally at home in city traffic as it is on the open road or touring. Featuring a comfortable riding position that enables riders to firmly reach the ground with their feet, this new model also delivers plenty of power and easy to control low- to mid-range torque. Useful Genuine Accessory options such as a top and side carrying cases are also available to add greater convenience and utility, both for daily use and for long distance touring.
New V-Strom Engine
The 248cc parallel twin engine that powers the V-Strom 250 has undergone thorough analysis and optimisation to maximise low- to mid-range torque and provide a powerful ride that features ease of control. The overall efficiency achieved also helps realise high levels of fuel economy and clean performance. With a full tank of fuel, the V-Strom 250 has a riding range of over 310 miles*1. The cam profile for the V-Strom 250 delivers maximum acceleration performance at speeds between 12 mph to 55 mph, as this is the range that is used most often. As an additional benefit, the cam profile also suppresses noise generation to deliver a smoother, more pleasant ride.
Highly efficient, lightweight exhaust system
The two-into-one exhaust system for the V-Strom 250 features an optimised shape for the chamber in front of the catalyser. This maximises acceleration performance at mid-range speeds, while the efficiency of the system also reduces exhaust emissions. The silencer adopts a shape that contributes to better engine output and torque by reducing power loss. It delivers a pleasing sound while its design also contributes to better cornering.
Designed to Perform
The flair of newly designed 10-spoke wheels pairs with tyres that provide strong grip on the road. Stopping power is provided by petal-type front and rear disc brakes. An Antilock Brake System (ABS)*2 made by Bosch is also equipped to deliver yet greater confidence and control.
Adventure Packed as Standard
The V-Strom 250 protects its rider from the elements with a compact windscreen that benefits from repeated wind tunnel testing to optimise its shape, providing highly effective shielding for a more comfortable ride. The V-Strom also features dedicated mounting clips to accommodate the optional accessory side cases for a truly integrated design. There is also a large aluminium rear carrier (8.5kg maximum capacity) that is perfect for mounting extra items you wish to carry, it’s fitted with hooks for attaching straps and this unit can also be used for attaching the optional accessory top case too.
Massive and Smart
The V-Strom 250 design concept is “Massive and Smart”. Massive for the solid feel of its well-balanced body and Smart for its sophisticated and practical design that provides ease of handling. Naturally, the V-Strom 250 shares the same adventure DNA as its V-Strom brothers, with design cues such as its rugged body lines and solid stance, the yellow colour scheme and the distinctive ‘beak’ paying tribute to Suzuki’s famed DR-Z and DR-BIG desert racers.
Full LCD instrumentation
The V-Strom 250 features a reverse-lit LCD instrument panel. Readouts include the speedometer, tachometer, gear position and RPM indicator, odometer, dual trip meters, fuel gauge, average fuel consumption and oil change timing indicators, and a clock.
*1 Calculated based on the Worldwide Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC mode) exhaust emissions measuring conditions measured by Suzuki. Actual fuel economy and riding range may differ owing to differences in conditions such as the weather, road, rider behaviour and maintenance.
*2 ABS is not designed to shorten the braking distance. ABS cannot prevent wheel skidding caused by braking while cornering. Please drive carefully and do not overly rely on ABS.
